Luna Technologies’ Optical Distributed Sensor Interrogator (ODiSI) instrument enables high resolution temperature and strain measurements using telecom-grade optical fiber as the sensor. The ODiSI offers the ability to test a structure at specific points of interest or continuously along the fiber with user-configurable sensing locations and gage lengths. A single fiber connected to a single, compact instrument provides high definition, unprecedented visibility into your structure under test, providing more information at a fraction of the cost.
Measurements:
- 50 meter maximum sensing length
- 1 mm gage length
- ± 2 μstrain and ± 0.2 °C repeatability with 1-cm gauge length
- ± 15,000 maximum μstrain
Advantages:
- Multiple sensing points with a single connection
- Easily deployed, inexpensive, disposable sensors
- Lightweight and immune to EMI/RF interference
- High definition sensing - 1mm gage length, 400 μm spacing
- Simultaneous strain and temperature measurement with a single fiber sensor
- User-configurable gauge length and sensing locations
- Customize sensing points
- Re-process stored data at a later time with more/different sensing points or higher spatial resolution
Applications:
- Load/fatigue/mechanical testing
- Model and simulation validation
- Design verification and optimization
- Composite manufacturing and engineering
- Structural Health Monitoring
