(Roanoke, Va., March 1, 2007): Luna Innovations Incorporated has hired two directors of sales for its Luna Technologies Division, and promoted from within to fill two new sales leadership positions: Senior Director North American Sales and Vice President of Global Product Sales.

Based in Southern California, Brian McCarver joins Luna Technologies as Director of Sales and Support for the Western United States. With more than 16 years’ experience in test and measurement sales with Agilent, Acterna and Tektronix, McCarver is highly skilled in analyzing emerging technology and market trends to capture new business and fuel sales growth.

Based in Edinburgh, Scotland, Ian Shannan joins Luna Technologies as Director of Sales and Support for Europe, Middle East and Africa. A British citizen with more than 16 years in high-tech test and measurement sales, Shannan worked for Circadiant Systems Inc., Acterna Inc. (formerly Wandel & Goltermann Technologies), Seven Layer Communications Ltd., Nuclear Enterprises Ltd. and British Telecom. With a proven track record of success, it is anticipated he will take Luna Technologies’ products into new markets and escalate sales by building and leading his sales teams for sustained growth.

Jim Mirabile has been promoted to Senior Director of Luna Technologies’ North American Sales. With a sales career spanning 16 years, Mirable worked for Acterna Inc. (formerly TTC), AT&T, Fluke Systems and Sunrise Telecom.

Luna Innovations also announces the promotion of Ed Valigursky to Vice President of Luna Innovations Global Product Sales. Over his 22-year career, he has held senior executive positions in sales and operations. Before joining Luna five years ago, Valigursky contributed sales success to Agilent Technologies (formerly Hewlett-Packard Test& Measurement), Acterna Inc (formerly TTC), Alumbre Technologies, and Amaxim Development LLC.

In this new position Valigursky will focus on continuing sales growth in the Luna Technologies Division as well as other product divisions. He will have companywide responsibility for leading, planning and directing all aspects of Global Product Sales in multiple avenues of technology.
