Mark Froggatt, Ph.D., Chief Technology Officer
Luna Innovations
Dr. Froggatt is the primary inventor of the technology used in the OVA and a leading expert in the field of interferometric measurement. Before joining Luna Technologies, Dr. Froggatt worked at NASA Langley developing ultrasonic and optical instrumentation. His distinguished academic background includes a bachelor's and master's degree in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech and a doctoral degree from the Institute of Optics, University of Rochester, under the supervision of Dr. Turan Erdogan.
Dr. Froggatt has been awarded several patents and is the author of numerous technical papers and presentations. In 1997 he was awarded the Discover Magazine Award for Technological Innovation for work relating to Bragg Grating sensors.
Matt Wolfe, Vice President of Engineering & Production
Luna Innovations
Mr. Wolfe is the Vice President of Engineering & Production. In this capacity, he is responsible for leading all product engineering and manufacturing operations. Mr. Wolfe joined Luna in 2000 as a member of the original product development team at Luna Technologies. He has served as the primary software and system-level architect for many of Luna's industry-leading and award-winning optical instrumentation products. Mr. Wolfe has spent several years managing engineering projects while leading the daily manufacturing operations for the company. Prior to joining Luna, Mr. Wolfe worked at Northrop Grumman Corporation on several software development projects directed at radar systems for military applications. He received bachelor's degrees in both Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering from West Virginia University.
Dawn Gifford, Ph.D., Director of Technology Development

Dr. Gifford is the Director of Technology Development for Luna Technologies, a division of Luna Innovations Incorporated. Dr. Gifford joined Luna in 2002 and now leads a team responsible for research and development of fiber optic measurement and sensing technology and instrumentation. She joined Luna Technologies where she helped develop Luna's fiber optic test and measurement instrumentation. Dr. Gifford received her doctorate in Optics at the Institute of Optics, University of Rochester, and her bachelor's degree in Physics from Brigham Young University.
Kelly Bewick, CPA, Director of Financial Analysis & Compliance
Luna Innovations
Ms. Bewick serves as Luna's Director of Financial Analysis & Compliance. She joined Luna Technologies in 2001 as General Accountant, and has since held the positions of Controller and Manager of Financial Reporting & Analysis. Ms. Bewick has more than 10 years experience in financial management, general ledger administration, internal and external financial reporting, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, forecasting and budgeting. She has worked in various industries, including heavy manufacturing, software, government and technology. She is a Certified Public Accountant and received her bachelor's degree in Finance from Virginia Tech.
